Mission Statement

The Hellenic Cultural Center of the Southwest (HCC-SW) promotes an understanding of the rich history and legacy that Hellenes have given to civilization and presents the saga of triumphs and sacrifices that were made during this long historic journey. Focusing on Hellenic contributions to language, government, arts, architecture, athletics, science, medicine, and philosophy, HCC-SW programs strive to benefit groups and individuals through education in civic affairs, health and citizenship.

Mission Based Programming

The goal of the HCC-SW is to promote the historical background and intellectual foundation of the Greek aptitude to create poetry, theater, art, philosophical hypothesis, mathematical theorems and lasting architectural designs. This is accomplished through: educational and cultural programs; film presentations; lectures and classes; and exhibitions.

The Hellenic Culture Center Home is the main goal of the Hellenic Cultural Center of the SouthWest. It will hold exhibits that will reveal the richness of Hellenic culture through the centuries and will be the cultural junction point for the Hellenes of the Southwest US.

The home will host the following:

  • Cultural events
  • Greek Language classes
  • Greek History classes
  • Hellenic Library
  •

Most importantly we are in the process of raising the funds that will make this dream come true.

Any help is welcomed.

WELCOME FRIENDS OF HELLENISM

With great love for our Greek heritage and our 4000+ year history, we invite you to the Hellenic Cultural Center of the Southwest. The HCC-SW was founded by local Hellenes of Houston to bring to the southwest programming that celebrates ancient and modern Greece and Greek America. Our center welcomes all Americans.

The long term vision for HCC-SW is not only to bring a flavor of Greece to the southwest, but also to establish a physical educational center and heritage museum, where all can learn about the remarkable Hellenic spirit and ethos.  For upcoming events and activites, visit our EVENTS page.

Thank you

Yannis Remediakis

President
